Updates for the interwobbles.
Production II project is in the final stages of post-production. My editor finished the cut earlier this week and finished color timing today. My sound man is now working out all the little rough edges of the sound design, then we will work on foley as well as the score. I'm super excited and hope the screening goes well next week.

Cinematography is more fun each class. I'm learning loads and enjoying every minute of it. This is what I really want to do. I'm glad to have an instructor like Michel.
My other classes are good. Work is fine. Life is pretty swell. I have no real complaints, I suppose. Every day is a new day for something fun to happen, you just gotta look at it right.
Chin up, everyone! We're all in this together, so let's make the most of it.

So, I found an old checkbook with all the carbons of checks I've written to my brother for rent. I like to write funny things in the memo lines.

Well, tomorrow I'm off to Vegas to start school again. Coming in on my last few semesters and I'm excited for it all. After a fantastic weekend shooting a short with the crew, my filmy filmmaker is all geared up for more. I have big plans for this fall. Time for shit to get real.

Also, The Antlers "Hospice" and Phoenix "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix" are two perfect summer albums. That is all.

Time for a kickass fall.

Industrial Photographer

So, if you happen to go to a college or university this fall that has mining engineering, and see a recruiting brochure by a company called Newmont, take a look through it. About 75% of the pictures in it were taken by me.

It blows my mind. My pictures. Used by a massive, global company to recruit talent. What.
Of course, all my thanks go to my two friends, 85mm prime and 35mm prime, because without them, it'd have been all shite. But still, it's extremely weird to my brain.
But I am proud and happy and giddy.

Saturday Secrets/Sunday Sun

Every time I try to write something real and human I worry that I might offend someone because they'll know the characters I write about are them.
If I could have my way, I would only ever shoot with natural light and a fast lens, even though I know that I need to know how to light proper.
Every time I get that pang of loneliness I try to remember that I'm not alone, and that countless others feel the same way.
What I want is to create something perfect, but what I feel the need for is to create something people will like.
The hardest thing for me: In the end, all I want is to be appreciated for the work I do wherever, but if know one says anything, I won't say anything. I think that no one likes what I've done, but I won't speak up.
My dreams and reality criss-cross each other more often than I'd like, but only in demented fashions.
