So after listening to Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, God is an Astronaut, This Will Destroy You and the like for a few years now, I finally decided I needed more post-rock in my life. So, I snagged a few of Russian Circles' albums, and hot damn are they fantastic. They've got a more edgier, metal slant to their music which adds a nice layer of hardness to the music. I love it a lot. More groovey tunes to listen to while surfing away, which is what I've been looking for.
I woke up this morning feeling like someone had sandpapered my throat and poured salt on it. It was raw and rough. Other than that, I didn't feel sick, so I went to my morning class. I've been chugging loads of water and drinking tea and such, so we'll see if it goes away after a long night of rest.
About a week ago some old guy noticed a screw in one of my tires while I was at a gas station. I finally got around to taking my car to a tire place and had them take a look at it. They pulled it, patched everything up, made sure all my tires were inflated properly and sent me on my way, free of charge. I'll be going back there whenever I have another tire problem.
Yesterday was a good day, because I was able to sit down for a bit and work some more on my script, as well as help out on another script. I don't know if my comments helped or made things worse, but I think it will turn out good.
It was fun sitting in that little back hallway of the library, talking and working. I haven't done something like that in a long while. I'm feeling very happy.
My brother, Chris and I talked about screenplays and various projects we want to work on in the coming year. Chris is finishing writing a full length that he wants to do next spring, which should be fun. I'm looking to try to shoot my short next summer sometime, so I'll need to start pre-production on that soon if I am serious in anyway about it. Luckily we have a great producer type guy who is very gung-ho about projects and can probably find some money for shoot with, which will be awesome. Paying people to do something they love is a good feeling, especially actors and crew.
I love showers.
